GIRL4STEM Campaign 2018

Girl4Stem is an initiative aimed at identifying, developing, motivating and integrating a wider number of young girls and women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as a way of moving society forward.

Why are women so few in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields?

Stereotypes: Many people believe girls and women do not excel in these domains like boys and men. Even though many deny that claim, they still hold it in their subconscious.

Gender bias: The “fixed mindset” that women are only good for certain careers has hindered many women from venturing into these fields. Further, many don’t employ or maintain women in these areas.

These are just a few reasons.

GLOFEW is working hard to bring about positive change in the lives of women and girls by challenging these stereotypes that greatly limit women and girls. Enthusiastic to change this mindset into a “growth mindset”, we believe intelligence can be developed. That is why we are out there encouraging girls to embrace challenges, learn more, persist in the face of challenges, learn from criticism and be inspired by the success story of the many other women in these fields.

It was a huge success and OH YES!! we are just getting started.
